VIOLIN AND VIOLA LESSONS

Ages and levels

I find great joy in teaching all levels and ages, from advanced concertos and solo repertoire, down to the very first violin encounter. I welcome children, youth, and adults into my studio, and accept students starting at age two.

Teaching locations

I currently teach in Virginia in Staunton, Buena Vista, and Broadway. I also teach via video call to students across the country.

Hybrid program

When in-person lessons are not possible on a weekly bases due to distance or other reasons, I have found great success teaching via video call, or with a combination of online and in person lessons. If you feel this could be a good alternative for your circumstances, please contact me to set up a remote trial lesson.

How to get started

If you or your child is interested in studying with me, please contact me to set up a trial lesson. â€‹If this is your first violin lesson, you do not need a violin to get started. I would rather guide you through the process of getting the right size and instrument for yourself or your child.

Lesson lengths and frequency

Private lessons are typically once a week. However, the frequency can be adjusted to fit the needs of students and families under special circumstances.

Beginning: 30 minutes

Intermediate: 45 minutes

Advanced: 60 minutes

Tuition

Tuition is due at the beginning of each month, and is pro-rated into equal monthly payments. Although you can start taking lessons at any time of the year, I generally contract for lessons August-May. Summer lessons are also available, but are offered on a month to month basis, due to traveling and changing schedules. Please contact me to inquire about specific tuition rates.

Group classes

Group classes provide a wonderful opportunity to learn to make music with others. The levels and frequency of the group classes offered depend of the needs of the studio from year to year.
